The world’s largest sailing ship ‘Sedov’ took part in Earth Hour on March 23 this year during the middle of its year-long around-the-world trip. The Captain of the ship gave orders to shut off the engine and the ship sailed the whole day using only the power of wind. All the lights on board were also turned off at 8:30PM when Sedov was around the area of the Equator.

Captain Nikolaj Zorchenko held a lesson for the young sailors about astronavigation, and told how sailors used stars to navigate during the first round-the-world sailing trips.
